RICHMOND, Va. — A film that looks behind the Virginia-made scenes of Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” is making its debut in Richmond.
Called “The Making of Lincoln,” the documentary will be shown Saturday at the Virginia Historical Society before what is expected to be a large crowd. Many of the local extras who were used in the filming are expected to attend.
The celebrated film that focuses on Abraham Lincoln’s role in the abolition of slavery was made entirely in Virginia, primarily in and around Richmond and Petersburg.
Besides the behind-the-scenes look at “Lincoln,” the viewers will also get a look at a movie poster signed by Spielberg, screenwriter Tony Kushner and historian Doris Kearns-Goodwin. The movie was based on her book “Team of Rivals.”
