Shooting Victim Dumped at Firehouse Identified

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (CBSDC) — The man whose body was dumped at a fire station in Capitol Heights early Friday morning has been identified as 27-year-old Charles Robert Thompson of Fort Washington.

Police say they were called to a firehouse in the 1400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road around 12:20 a.m. Friday where the man was discovered suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died, authorities say.

A preliminary investigation reveals the man was shot elsewhere. The person who brought the body to the station did not remain at the scene according to Corporal Clinton Copland with Prince George’s County Police.

The identity of the shooting victim is not yet known.

Authorities are working to determining a motive and identify suspects in the case.
