LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- Meteorologists say the D.C. region will be largely spared from the major winter weather system headed to New England, but a few areas could see snow, sleet and freezing rain Friday morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for Loudoun, Frederick and Montgomery counties from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The precipitation is expected to turn to rain by mid-morning.
