ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Gov. Martin O’Malley is highlighting some initiatives he hopes will spur job growth.
The governor on Thursday outlined plans to help people get training for jobs that are in high demand. O’Malley has put $2.5 million in his budget proposal to create a competitive grant process to help get people the skills for jobs that are in high demand. He’s calling it the Employment Advancement Now Initiative.
He’s also backing a measure to speed up the professional licensing process for military families who move to Maryland from other states.
The governor also announced a plan with 25 actions the state can take to help federal facilities drive innovation and create jobs in the state.
