Third Arrest Made in Woodbridge Murder
LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)– A third suspect has been apprehended in a Prince William County homicide investigation that began Jan. 15.
Officers from the Street Crimes Unit say 25-year-old Douglas Hernandez, of no fixed address, was arrested without incident is being held without bond.
Two arrests have already been made in relation to the murder of 47-year-old Barbaro Lupe Alonso-Iraola.
Police responded to the 15000 block of Cardin Place in Woodbridge at around 11 p.m. Jan. 15 to find Alonso-Iraola unresponsive with trauma to his face thought to be caused by both a blunt object and a knife. He was soon pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel. Witnesses reported that two unknown men pulled up in a van and left him there before fleeing the area.
That week, 25-year-old Juan Carlos Flores was charged with first-degree murder and 28-year-old Jose Miguel Diaz was charged as an accessory after the fact. Police said Diaz aided Flores but is not the second suspect described by witnesses.
They now believe Hernandez is the second man in the van that witnesses described.
