LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- A 17-year-old student at Wilde Lake High School in Howard County has been arrested and is being charged as an adult after a younger student said he raped her at school Monday.

DeShawn Rasheed Jones, of Columbia, will be charged with second-degree rape, according to Howard County police.

The 14-year-old victim said Jones approached her in a hallway Monday and asked her to cut class with him. After walking around inside the building together, he pulled her into an unoccupied room, blocked the door, held her down, and raped her, she said.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested Jones at the school Tuesday. He is still being processed and bond has not been set.
