WASHINGTON — A murder suspect who was awaiting trial but was released from jail is now arrested again, charged with two shootings a kidnapping that left another man dead.
Police arrested 18-year-old Javon Hale late Tuesday on two separate warrants. He is charged in a shooting in Capitol Hill near the Potomac Avenue Metro station on Dec. 26 that critically injured a man. Three days later, court documents say Hale and 22-year-old Darnell Rivers allegedly kidnapped a man. But the victim also had a gun and shot and killed Rivers.
A D.C. Superior Court judge released Hale in November. He was given a curfew and an electronic monitoring bracelet, pending his murder trial in a 2010 killing.
Documents filed Wednesday show the monitoring device placed Hale near both of the December shootings.
