BALTIMORE (CBSDC) — It seems the entire city of Baltimore is bathed in purple as fans show off their Ravens pride in anticipation of the Super Bowl.
But one restaurant in particular has gone above and beyond the normal show of support.
In front of Zen West Roadside Cantina in north Baltimore is a huge, hand-painted mural with the Ravens logo on the left and “2012 AFC Champions Baltimore Ravens” painted on the right above the Super Bowl XLVII logo.
The three restaurant employees who spent last weekend with a paint brush and pallette said the mural was their boss’ idea. They said he traced the logo on the building’s outdoor walls and put them in charge of filling it in with purple, black and gold paint.
Although painting is not in their job descriptions, the three women said they didn’t mind the task because it helps create a more festive setting for Sunday’s game. The inside of the restaurant and bar will be decorated with purple lights, Ravens banners and other things to get fans excited for the game.
Like many bars and restaurants, Zen West is expecting a spike in business Sunday.
