ASPEN HILL, Md. (CBSDC/AP) — A water main break is affecting morning commuters along Georgia Avenue in Montgomery County.
Only one of the southbound lanes is being allowed to pass by the water main break in Aspen Hill. The break is between Aspen Hill Road and Hewitt Avenue.
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is on the scene making repairs, but the work is expected to take all day.
Wednesday is proving to be a hellacious commute for morning drivers in the Washington area.
A gnarly accident involving a fire engine, tractor-trailer and SUV is causing massive delays on the Capital Beltway near MD-50 (exit 19). Cleanup of the mangled wreckage has closed multiple lanes in each direction for hours.
