LANHAM, MD. (CBSDC)- A Waldorf man is in critical condition and his wife is dead after police say she attempted a murder-suicide Tuesday night.

Charles County Sheriff’s Office officials told The Washington Post that deputies were called to the house, on the 3100 block of Heartleaf Lane, to investigate reports of a shooting at around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene but the man was flown to a hospital in critical condition. Both are believed to be in their 60s. The investigation is ongoing.
