Police Searching for 2 Missing Md. Teens

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Police are searching for two teenage girls from the Gaithersburg area who have been missing since Jan. 23.
Montgomery County police said Karina Cornejo-Galdmaez, 12, of the 9300 block of Merust Lane in Montgomery Village, and Rosa Rivas-Ascencio, 14, of the 18000 block of Nathans Place in Gaithersburg, were last seen a week ago as they were dismissed from their respective middle schools at 2:30 p.m.
Cornejo-Galdmaez was at Montgomery Village Middle School, at 19300 Watkins Mill Road, while Rivas-Ascencio was about 3 miles down the road at Neelsville Middle School, at 11700 Neelsville Church Road in Germantown, police said.
Cornejo-Galdmaez is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet tall, and weighing 105 pounds. She has brown eyes, brown shoulder length hair, and has a piercing on the right side of her lower lip. She was last seen wearing a black, North Face jacket, blue jeans, and a black shirt.
Rivas-Ascencio is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing 113 pounds. She has brown eyes and black shoulder length hair. She was last seen wearing a gray sweater and dark blue jeans.
Police believe the girls are traveling together and could be in the area of Langley Park, Md.
