LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) – A winter weather advisory will be in effect for much of the D.C. area between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service expects freezing rain and sleet to fall in the District, as well as Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert counties in Maryland and Culpeper, Prince William, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Orange and Fauquier counties in Virginia.
Following a deep freeze that began early last week, conditions will begin to thaw out Tuesday. Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to reach the high 50s and low 60s. Highs will likely drop back down to the 30s by Thursday, however.
