LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- Even without factoring in wind chill, tonight’s temperatures could get colder than any the region has felt since the winter of 2010.

A low of 16 degrees is in the forecast, but “real feel” temperatures have been in the single digits already today already due to wind, Accuweather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.

The Arctic air mass causing the freeze is expected to linger into the weekend, so Sosnowski suggests breaking out cold weather accessories like gloves and hats if you haven’t already. For those who work outside, he says take breaks from the cold indoors if possible and drink warm liquids.
