DUMFRIES, Va. (CBSDC/AP)— Two brothers are wanted for murder following the early Thursday morning shooting of a Dumfries woman at her front door.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Tasheka Lashon Leavell. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say 29-year-old Douglas Jason Tolliver and 27-year-old Christopher Jonathon Tolliver, both of Dumfries, are suspects in the slaying and are considered armed and dangerous. Both knew Leavell and there is believed to be a third man involved in the murder, but police have not yet identified him.
It was around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning when a caller told police that gunshots had been fired in the 17600 block of Washington Street. A man who lives at Leavell’s address told police that she answered a knock at the door and had an argument with the visitor before the shots were fired.
