LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — Nine days removed from reconstructive knee surgery, Robert Griffin III appears to be headed in the right direction.
The Washington Redskins quarterback gave a brief update on his recovery Friday morning on Twitter.
“Getting better everyday (and) thankful for it,” Griffin wrote.
The latest update comes six days after he thanked his more than 767,000 followers for their well wishes and support.

Renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews, who performed Griffin’s surgery, is equally optimistic about the Heisman Trophy winner’s prognosis.
“We expect a full recovery and it is everybody’s hope and belief that due to Robert’s high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season,” Andrews said recently.
Meanwhile, Griffin remains active on the social media platform during the rehab process, joking with teammates and friends to pass the time — even sprinkling in an inspirational quote or two along the way.
“Life is crazy (and) we will never figure it out,” he tweets. “So we should focus on the little things so the big things can fall into place.”
And on the funnier side of things . . .
