ARLINGTON, Va.— An Alexandria man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for a Christmas Eve crash that killed a pedestrian.
Arlington County police say 21-year-old Farhan Khan ran a red light on Glebe Road around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. Police say his car struck another vehicle and spun out of control before hitting 30-year-old Shabnam Motahhar-Tehrani of Nokesville, Va., who was standing on the sidewalk. She died a few hours later at a hospital.
If convicted of involuntary manslaughter, Khan faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
