OLNEY, Md. (CBSDC) — A 17-year-old is facing charges of attempted first degree murder and armed robbery in connection with a possible drug-related shooting Monday night in Olney.
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of Morningwood Drive. Police say three men were sitting in a car when one opened fire on another passenger.
The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive.
Authorities say Daniel Alexander Paynter was arrested Tuesday afternoon after detectives had the opportunity to speak with him regarding the incident.
A preliminary hearing for Paynter, who is also facing related assault and firearm charges, has been scheduled for Jan. 25 in Rockville.
