LA PLATA, Md. — Charles County prosecutors say a Waldorf teenager charged in the death of a taxi driver is facing a new murder charge.
A grand jury this week indicted 17-year-old Joshua T. Mebane in the October death of Teresa Bass, who was attacked along with her husband in Waldorf.
Prosecutors say Mebane faces two life sentences, plus 68 years, if convicted of all counts.
Mebane is being held in the District of Columbia, where he is awaiting trial in the killing of a taxi driver.
Charles County State’s Attorney Tony Covington says D.C. prosecutors will handle that case first. Mebane will then be brought to the county to stand trial.
A lawyer for Mebane couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
