LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- Police responded to the scene of a D.C. shooting shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, where they found that a man had been shot in the hand just about a block from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Headquarters.

A suspect fled into a tunnel close to the scene, near the corner of D Street and 3rd Street NW, and was followed by officers.

Police have not yet released further information on the victim’s injuries.
