BALTIMORE — Federal prosecutors say 18 people have been charged in a drug trafficking operation that spanned three states and transported hundreds of pounds of marijuana.
The 18 were charged in indictments and complaints unsealed Tuesday. Fifteen people were arrested and search warrants were executed on homes and businesses in Maryland, New Jersey and California.
Prosecutors say the conspiracy involved marijuana being shipped or driven to Maryland from California and New Jersey. The marijuana was allegedly stored in houses in Maryland.
The indictment seeks a money judgment of at least $10 million, and the forfeiture of eight properties, 22 bank accounts, 24 vehicles, and the assets and inventory of three businesses.
