ASHBURN, Va. (CBSDC) — Robert Griffin III is going to be able to add some unique hardware to his trophy case this offseason. Perhaps it will serve as inspiration as he recovers from reconstructive knee surgery in hopes of returning be the start of his sophomore season.

Not surprisingly, Griffin was named the Washington Redskins newcomer of the year by Grant Paulsen on 4th & Pain — a pro wrestling themed radio show hosted by defensive end Adam Carriker and I. What is a surprise, however, is what the distinction actually means for Griffin. It means he’s actually won the WWE Divas title.

The belt was originally chosen with Kai Forbath in mind. As Carriker put it, “he is a kicker after all.”

The Divas Title was one of many to be given out this year. Rather than simply award Player of the Year Honors, defensive end Carriker and I decided to put a WWE twist on things as we reward the most outstanding players on all facets of the team. It’s a fitting conclusion to the year after having given out WWE title belts to the most deserving player each week during the season.

Various wrestling belts were given to most outstanding players on offense, defense, special teams as well as to the overall most valuable player and the aforementioned newcomer of the year.

4th & Pain Title Belt Presentations

The Belts

Television Title: Given to the offensive player of the year because these guys typically steal all the highlights.

Hardcore Title: Given to the most deserving defensive player because these guys are hard-nose, hard-hitting, in your face type of players.

Cruiserweight Title: Given to the most deserving special teams player. This one was selected with its recipient in mind.

Divas Title: Given to the newcomer of the year. Like the previous title, this belt was selected with a specific player in mind.

World Title: Given to the overall MVP this season.

The Winners

Television Title

4th & Pain
Alfred Morris: Set the franchise record for rushing yards as a rookie, besting Clinton Portis, en route to being name as a Pro Bowl alternate. Morris was also a four-time 4th & Pain champion this year. (watch him receive WWE title belt)

Grant Paulsen
Alfred Morris: In league history, only two rookies have rushed for more yards. He also considered giving it to Trent Williams.

Hardcore Title

4th & Pain
Barry Cofield: Cofield saw his projected workload increase dramatically when Carriker and Brandon Orakpo were lost to injury. He recorded an inordinate number of tackles for a 3-4 nose guard.

London Fletcher: The streak continues and he finished in the top 10 in the NFL in tackles. He is the heart and soul of the Redskins defense, having played on Sunday without being able to practice all week down the stretch.

Cruiserweight Title

4th & Pain
Lorenzo Alexander: The ‘One Man Gang’ finally got the Pro Bowl monkey off his back, earning his first trip to Hawaii for his play on special teams. He doesn’t just tackle people, he blows them up. Why the cruiserweight title? Because he lost so much weight.

Grant Paulsen
Lorenzo Alexander: This one is debatable. He’s probably the best special teams defender in the entire NFL. He’s a free agent and Grant’s hope is Alexander is about to get paid.

Divas Title

4th & Pain
Kai Forbath: He’s a kicker… enough said. As Carriker says, “Frankly, it kind of fits.”

Grant Paulsen
Robert Griffin III: Probably not the award RGIII was hoping for, but the title was chosen for the kicker. It just so happens the quarterback also certainly fits the bill as newcomer of the year.

World Title

4th & Pain
Robert Griffin III: There is no debate here. What he meant to this organization cannot be overstated.

Robert Griffin III: MVP is about value. He changed everything. He is a franchise altering talent.

Who would you give the title belts to?
