LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- As Maryland legislators gathered in Annapolis Wednesday for the first time in 2013, and for the first time since the elementary school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut last month, Governor Martin O’Malley said he will submit a gun-control bill during the new session.
A 9News Now report says O’Malley’s legislation would attempt to limit the availability of guns to the mentally ill as well as ban the sale of assault rifles and high-capacity magazines.
Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch told 9News Now that there’s an appetite for further gun control measures in the state.
