LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) – Montgomery County is seeking public input on budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
County Executive Isiah Leggett has scheduled five public forums over the next month for residents to voice their concerns about the county’s operating budget priorities in light of budget shortfalls predicted in fiscal 2014.
The first forum will take place at 7 p.m. Jan. 10 at Mid-County Community Recreation Center, 2004 Queensguard Road in Silver Spring.
The other forums, all set to begin at 7 p.m., are scheduled on the following dates:
• Jan. 24, BlackRock Center for the Arts, 12901 Town Commons Drive in Germantown;
• Jan. 28, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Service Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane in Bethesda;
• Jan. 29, Silver Spring Civic Building, One Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring; and
• Feb. 4, Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring.
Leggett will announce his recommended fiscal 2014 operating budget March 15. The Montgomery County Council approves the operating budget at the end of May.
