BETHESDA, Md. (CBSDC) - Brush fires caused major delays on the Beltway and on I-270 during Tuesday’s afternoon rush hour.
Montgomery County Fire responded to multiple brush fires in the northbound lanes of I-270 near Old Georgetown Road around 1 p.m. Tuesday. The fires were caused by very dry conditions.
Delays were initially overwhelming, but traffic is now beginning to ease.
