Six Maryland Pedestrians Struck Within 24 Hours

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)– It has been a bad 24 hours for pedestrians in Maryland.

Baltimore County Police reported that the sixth pedestrian strike in the state since Monday night occurred on the 6800 Block of Loch Raven Boulevard Tuesday morning. The victim died as a result of the impact.

Two other strikes occurred Tuesday – one in Clarksville near River Hill High School and one on Father Hurley Boulevard at Lullaby Way in Germantown. A Medevac helicopter was called in to transport the Clarksville victim, a student, to Shock Trauma. Howard County police say it appears the student was in a crosswalk at the time of impact.

On Monday night, three pedestrians were hit in two accidents, one in Germantown, the other in Rockville.
