LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC)- The Ballston station on Metro’s Orange Line is now open after being shuttered for several hours when a woman was struck and killed by an incoming train Monday morning.
When service first resumed, trains were running on a single track between the East Falls Church and Virginia Square stations, so there are residual delays. Trains are currently running on both tracks. A police investigation is ongoing.
Metro says the woman intentionally placed herself in the path of an incoming train at the Ballston station in Arlington shortly before noon Monday.
