STAFFORD, Va. (CBSDC/AP)— Human remains discovered in Stafford County have been identified as those of a man reported missing in 2011.
Police tell media outlets that an autopsy report indicates that 45-year-old Timothy R. Wait’s death didn’t result from foul play.
Wait’s remains were found Dec. 31 by two juveniles in a wooded area behind the GEICO building off U.S. 17, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Police say Wait was last seen walking in the area of Mine Road Commuter lot, in North Stafford, on the evening of May 10, 2011. He had left his house after a disagreement with his wife. His wife reported him missing two days later.
