LANHAM, Md.- Jenny Georgina Enriquez-de Bermant, the former Prince William County principal who pleaded guilty to embezzling thousands of dollars using a school credit card, will serve just four years of probation since her 10-year prison term was suspended by a judge Thursday, the Washington Post reports.
An investigation showed that the 48-year-old spent about $8,500 on a school card, and she told police she wanted to buy gifts for her kids. She has paid nearly $15,000 in restitution since being arrested in May, according to the report.
The school system, which has issued about 700 credit cards, plans to increase the number of audits it performs per year from 10 schools to 15 schools.
