ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (CBSDC) - One teenager is still in critical condition from a crash that injured five teens outside a high school in Howard County Thursday.
Jeffrey Conner Sinclair, 18 – the driver of four teenage males aged 17, 17, 16 and 15 – remains in critical condition after his Honda Civic was struck by a tree removal truck outside Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City around 2:30 p.m.
Police believe the Honda pulled out from the s school parking lot and was struck by the Mack truck, which was traveling westbound on MD-99 at the time.
The driver of the truck – 43-year-old David Dell of Sykesville – was not injured in the collision.
The other four students were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. It is currently unclear if they were wearing seatbelts.
After investigating the scene of the crash, police believe the car may have pulled out directly into the path of the truck.
That investigation is ongoing.
MD-99 has reopened to traffic in both directions.
