Body of Missing Md. Man Found in Adams Morgan Apartment

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — The search for 23-year-old Michael Poe is over.
Police in the District confirm Poe’s body was discovered in the ventilation shaft of an apartment building in Adams Morgan. Poe, of Clarksburg, Md., was was last seen at a bar in the same neighborhood early New Year’s Day and never returned home.
Authorities say a resident of The Haddington apartment building at 1840 Biltmore St. NW called police Wednesday night to report an unconscious person. Police responded and found the man dead inside the shaft.
Police investigators are trying to determine exactly how the man died, but suspect he fell down the shaft.
Poe was first reported missing around 2:52 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Police do not believe there is any indication of foul play. The body has been sent to a medical examiner for autopsy.
