WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - All lanes have reopened along New York Avenue after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle earlier in the day Friday.
Police say the victim, an adult female, was struck in the intersection of 1st Street and New York Ave., NW, around 6 p.m.
She was taken to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area for hours as all lanes of New York Ave. were blocked for police investigation of the incident.
Police say the driver who struck the victim did stop.
