(LANHAM, Md.) – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Washington metropolitan area until 6 p.m.
The area can expect sustained winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
Weather officials warn that strong gusts of wind can make it difficult to drive and cause downed power lines and tree damage.
There have been widespread electrical outages reported throughout the region.
