Emergency Road Repairs Cause Heavy Tie-Ups on MD-355

BETHESDA, Md. (CBSDC) – Multiple lanes could remain closed along MD-355 in Montgomery County through Friday morning as crews attempt to make emergency road repairs.

The Maryland State Highway Administration is supporting the closure of the two southbound lanes of MD-355 just north of Cedar Lane in Bethesda, while the Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission performs an emergency repair to a water main line and sinkhole.

The closure began Thursday night and could proceed into Friday morning drive time, causing major delays along the heavily traveled stretch of road.

Drivers are strongly urged to plan an alternate route through the area.
