RICHMOND, Va. — A long-haul trucker has been sentenced to 33 years in prison after picking up a 10-year-old girl in Virginia, sexually assaulting her and producing child pornography.

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael Pacelli of Longwood, Fla., also was sentenced Wednesday to a lifetime of supervised release in addition to his 405-month prison term.

According to prosecutors, Pacelli picked up the girl in Ashland one year ago and traveled to his residence in Florida. During the trip, he performed sexual acts on the victim and took sexually explicit photos of the child with his cell phone. He would then transfer the images to his computer.

The government says some of the sexual assaults occurred at his residence in Florida.
