CULPEPER, Va. — Bright red marquee lights are shining again at a historic theater in Culpeper.
Media outlets report that at estimated 1,000 people watched as the State Theatre Foundation flipped the switch on the State Theatre’s marquee lights Wednesday night.
The $100,000 marquee project is part of a $9 million restoration of the theater. A grand opening is set for May 4, 2013.
The theater was built in 1938 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
