RG3 Fully Practiced: “Pretty Close To Full Speed”
ASHBURN (CBSDC)–Washington Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan said today that Robert Griffin III fully practiced as they prepare for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
“Pretty close to full speed,” Shanahan said as Griffin III ( took most the first team reps in practice today.
Shanahan said they’ll continue to evaluate Griffin III through the week.
“When the doctors tell me the [ligament's] ready to go, then I’ll announce that he’s ready to go,” Shanahan said.
Griffin III sprained his LCL against the Baltimore Ravens ten days ago and hasn’t played since.
London Fletcher (ankle) & Rob Jackson (birth of child) didn’t practice today. Fletcher has been dealing with an ankle injury for a few weeks and hasn’t played. Lorenzo Alexander (shoulder) & Stephen Bowen (tendon tear of upper bicep) were limited in practice. Alexander is recovering from a stinger last Sunday, both him and Bowen should be okay. Shanahan said it’s pretty painful for Bowen, but “hopefully he’ll be able to do it” on playing with the injury.
Will Montgomery (2nd degree MCL) fully practiced today, Tyler Polumbus (concussion) is still going through the protocol, but did go through walk-through.
The same five offensive lineman have started every Redskins game this season.
