ROCKVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect wanted in the robbery of a convenience store in Rockville Tuesday.
On Dec. 18, police responded to the Food Express located at 16254 Frederick Road in Rockville for the report of an armed robbery around 1:14 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed a lone gunman entered the establishment, approached the clerk and announced a robbery while showing he had a handgun.
The clerk followed the suspect’s commands to give him the cash from the register and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Montgomery County police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid-20’s, between 5’7” and 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a blue coat, dark jeans, black and white sneakers, and a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball hat.
He was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.
Police have released surveillance photos taken from the crime scene in hopes that someone can identify him. They ask anyone with information relevant to this robbery or the suspect involved to call (240) 773-5100.
