SILVER SPRING, Md. (CBSDC) - Police have made an arrest in a bank robbery that occurred in the Colesville area of Silver Spring last week.
Jomo Kenyatta Crawford, 28, of Silver Spring, was arrested at his home in the 12900 block of Autumn Drive on Friday around 10:30 a.m. for his role in the robbery of a Capitol One Bank.
Police say on Wednesday, Dec. 12, a suspect walked into the Capital One Bank located in the 13300 block of New Hampshire Ave. at about 5:30 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding money.
According to Montgomery County Police, the note implied the suspect had a weapon, although none was seen by the teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the bank.
Police arrested and charged Crawford without incident five days after releasing surveillance photos of the suspect to the public.
They also found evidence related to the crime in his home while making the arrest.
He admitted to his involvement in the robbery.
