WASHINGTON (CBSDC) - A popular baby stroller manufacturer issued a recall Thursday of nearly 11,000 strollers – designed for parents who like to bring their children along the trail with them as they go for a jog – after multiple reports that the frame collapses onto the child while in use.
Baby Jogger LLC has issued an international recall between the U.S. and Canada, of their Baby Jogger City Versa model strollers; 10,600 strollers recalled in total.
The Richmond-based company sold the stroller in baby product stores across the country and issued the recall after receiving six reports of incidents in which the frame of the stroller could not sustain itself after failing to lock, causing it to collapse around the child.
No injuries have been reported.
The strollers being recalled were manufactured between May 15 and Aug. 20, 2012. The manufacture date can be found printed on the stroller’s black plastic side hinge below “Baby Jogger” and “City Versa”.
Consumers are being asked to stop using the recalled strollers immediately and contact Baby Jogger for a free replacement stroller frame.
To reach Baby Jogger call (877) 506-2213 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
