ASHBURN, VA (CBSDC)–Robert Griffin III was limited in practice today after sustaining a grade one LCL sprain to his right knee last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

“I feel good,”  Griffin III said today.

Griffin III jogged, did step back drops among other things today.

“It’s gotten better everyday, which is a positive sign for me. Sunday night I thought there was probably no chance that I could play the next week and then Monday morning I felt better about it. Yesterday I felt better about it and today I feel really good about it.”

Griffin III wore a brace today and plans to wear a brace if he plays on Sunday.

“Plant and throwing is not a problem,”  Griffin III said.

Redskins Mike Shanahan was happy what with what he saw today.

“I was impressed with how he worked and what he did.”

Shanahan would only say they are going “day-by-day ” with him.

Kirk Cousins will start at quarterback if Robert Griffin III can’t go on Sunday.

“I was advised not to comment on rep distribution,”  Cousins said today on how many first team snaps he got today.  “I’m not going to say anything along those lines to protect my team and give us the best chance to win on Sunday.”

Cousins added, “Anytime you can get reps you’re going to get better.”

Cousins has just worked with the scout team the last few months, this is the first time he is getting reps with the first team.

“Kurt’s done a great job and that’s why he played the way he played during the game,”  Shanahan said on the preparation Cousins does every week.

London Fletcher (ankle) didn’t practice today.  Trent Williams (thigh) & Robert Griffin III (knee) were limited.  Everyone else fully practiced.
