SPRINGFIELD, Va. (CBSDC) — Police fear the serial groper may have struck for a 12th time in Fairfax County.
The latest reported attack occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Fairfax County Police say. A 49-year-old woman tells investigators a man ran up behind her and fondled her as she ran along Blarney Stone Drive near Omega Court in Springfield.
The woman says she struck the groper before he fled the area.
She describes the attacker as a Hispanic male, roughly 5 feet 6 inches tall and between 25 and 30 years old. He was wearing a red cap, black jacket and blue, skinny jeans at the time of the assault, police say.
The woman’s description of the man closely matches those given in previously reported assaults.
The attack is the first reported since Nov. 21 when a 36-year-old was groped under similar circumstances.
