WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Patrick Moran was sentenced after pleading guilty to simple assault in a D.C. court Wednesday.

Son of Virginia Rep. Jim Moran, Patrick Moran was sentenced to 90 days with 90 days suspended. He will be required to do community service and complete a domestic violence intervention.

The Washington City Paper reported the charge stemmed from incident in which Moran slammed his girlfriend’s head against a metal trash can during a fight at a bar in Columbia Heights; an incident which left her “bleeding heavily from her nose,” according to the report.

Moran resigned from his father’s campaign in October after a conservative group released an undercover video in which he discussed a plan to cast fraudulent ballots.
