ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) — A Metrobus driver is in custody and facing charges in connection with the 2010 murder of a Centreville man.
Stacy Reed, 43, was arrested by US Marshals and Metro Transit Police near the Pentagon shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Court documents state Reed drove two men, Tasheik A. Champean and Reynard L. Prather, to a home in northern Va. with the intention of robbing a large quantity of cash believed to be inside.
The pair shot and killed Jose Cardona during an altercation at the home, prosecutors say. The son of the business’ owner was also present at the time of the shooting.
Metro officials confirm Reed has been employed by the transit service since Aug. 19 2012.
Champean may face life in prison after pleading guilty to charges in connection with the robbery and killing.
Prather has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in the crime.
