WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – D.C. Police tell WNEW a suspect has been identified, but no arrests have been made in a Metrobus shooting that left one woman dead and her young daughter injured.

The shooting, described as a domestic incident, occurred at the 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue bus stop around 5:30 p.m. in Southeast D.C., police say. The woman, who was in her 20s, was shot several times and died at the scene.

The toddler girl was transported to Children’s Hospital. Her injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The Metrobus driver took off when the shooting began, but police stopped the bus a block away.

The B2 Metrobus was en route to Mount Rainier at the time of the incident, a Metro spokesperson says.
