SUNDERLAND, Md. (CBSDC) - An explosion in Calvert County sent a man to the hospital Monday afternoon.
Firefighters arrive at the scene of the explosion in the 7100 block of Dorothy Dr. in Sunderland around 12:30 p.m. to find a man with serious burns to his body and a car engulfed in flames.
The unidentified 46-year-old male victim was working on a vehicle when it exploded. One vehicle was fully involved, while a camper and another truck also received serious damage.
A medevac arrived on the scene but was unable to take flight due to inclement weather.
He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance where he is suffering serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
