CHAPEL OAKS, Md. (CBSDC) - Police have made an arrest in a shooting that took place in Chapel Oaks on Tuesday.
The suspect has been identified as 17-year-old Derrick Anthony Wills, of the 1200 block of Eastern Ave. in Northeast.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4 around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Nye Street where they found a male teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm.
An investigation revealed Wills approached the victim on foot and demanded his cell phone. When the victim refused to hand it over, he was shot in the arm. He has since been released from the hospital.
A subsequent investigation led police to 50th and Nash Streets in Northeast on Thursday, where officers found Wills with the victim’s cell phone. The gun used in the crime was also recovered.
Wills is being charged as an adult.
He faces attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, theft and armed robbery.
He is being held without bond.
