WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A teenager has been shot in the leg and robbed in Southeast Washington.

The shooting occurred around 8:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of Morris Rd. SE as the 18-year-old was heading to school. The woman, who attends Phelps ACE High School, has been taken to the hospital.

Police say the shooter robbed the girl of her backpack at a bus stop before fleeing the scene.

Police are searching for a black male wearing a black jacket and red face mask.
