Prince William, Kate Middleton Expecting First Child

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — The royal family is getting bigger.
Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first child, palace officials confirm to CBS News.
The Associated Press reports that Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is in a London hospital after suffering a severe form of morning sickness.
The couple’s first born has a strong chance of becoming monarch as the child will be behind Prince William in the line of succession to the throne, Cabinet Office officials told the AP.
Prime Minister David Cameron congratulated the two on the pregnancy.

“I’m delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby,” Cameron said on Twitter. “They will make wonderful parents.”
The couple married April 29, 2011.
