Last night, during halftime of Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday Night Football, sportscaster Bob Costas choose to make a gun control plea to America, but did it cross the line?
Costas was responding to the tragedy in Kansas City Saturday when Chiefs’ player Javon Belcher allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend in their home before driving to the Chiefs practice facility and committed suicide.
During his segment, Costas said, “in the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? ….. If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.”
Monday morning on the show, the Junkies discussed Costas’ controversial remarks and surprisingly all four felt it was inappropriate. “I just don’t think it’s the right place,” said EB. “Comment on the game.”
JP followed those sentiments by saying “Even though I am for gun control, it is a stretch to say if he didn’t posses a gun, both he and Kassandra Perkins would be alive today.”
Lurch asked “Is Yeardley Love alive? Okay then, he shouldn’t be saying that!”
