ROCKVILLE, Md. (CBSDC) - A Montgomery County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the brutal death of his stepdaughter in 2011.
David Richard Hang, 43, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole Monday for the death of 12-year-old Jessica Nguyen.
In May of 2011, family members found her body in the basement of their Gaithersburg home.
After an eight-day trial in August, a jury found Hang guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Nguyen. According to the Medical Examiner, she was stabbed 45 times.
“This was a brutal murder,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy. “I’m glad the jury and the judge recognized how dangerous this man really is. Life without the possibility of parole in this matter is the just and correct sentence for the heinous crime he committed.”
Hang’s original sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 29, but was postponed due to Super Storm Sandy.
